GAS SHORTAGE IN BIRATNAGAR



Biratnagar, May 26: Biratnagar has seen artificial shortage of cooking gas. The demand rose for gas rose drastically after rumours that gas price is going to be increased by Rs 200 a cylinder.

Consumers said some gas traders have been refusing to sell gas cylinders. Rumour is doing the round that the gas price has gone up, said Ram Naresh, a supplier of cooking gas in Biratnagar.

RSS learnt that gas dealers are preparing to hold a meeting to increase the price.

On the other hand, chief of the Regional Office of Nepal Oil Corporation, Mukunda Prasad Ghimire, said gas price will not be increased. Five companies are supplying gas in the Eastern Region. RSS
