RS. TWO MILLION ALLOCATED FOR DALIT DEVELOPMENT



Biratnagar, May 28: The District Development Committee (DDC), Morang has allotted around Rs. two million for the uplift and development of Dalit community for the current fiscal year 2009/10 AD (2066/67 BS).

According to a decision made by Dalit Coordination Committee, the DDC, Morang has allocated Rs one million towards scholarship programme, Rs. 25,000 towards education material assistance programme and Rs. 25,000 towards Dalit disabilities.

Similarly, the allotment includes Rs. 250,000 for driving training to 30 dalit members and Rs. 50,000 towards computer training.

The DDC has allocated Rs. 50,000 towards Dalit programme monitoring and administrative costs, Rs. 20,000 for screening Dalit Luti cinema, Rs. 150,000 for the construction of toilets in Bayarbana and Shanischare VDCs and Rs. 80,000 as incentive for inter cast marriage, according to the information provided by DDC, Social Reform Programme Officer Saroj Gautam.
