Chitwan (Ratnanagar), May 31: Hospitals in Chitwan, which have been closed for the last one and half week, have come to resumption from today.

The emergency and OPD services of hospitals have been reopened keeping in mind the inconvenience caused to patients, according to Save Bhaktaman Campaign.

A discussion held between Save Bhaktaman Campaign and seven political parties in Chitwan reached an understanding to operate services in hospitals.

The move has been taken considering the growing pathetic situation of patients in the hospitals, informed Campaign Member Dr. Keshab Bhurtel.

Earlier, emergency services of four hospitals of Chitwan were only brought into operation to ramp up pressure to make public the whereabouts of Executive Director of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Dr. Bhaktaman Shrestha. Likewise, all services were brought to a grinding halt in other hospitals.

Before this, patients and their kins had staged agitation for not providing services in hospitals. There are altogether more than three dozens of hospitals and numerous medicals in Chitwan.

The Campaign, which has been demanding the public of the whereabouts of missing Dr. Shrestha, said to continue other pressure creating programme, including besiege of administration from today.

The whereabouts of Dr. Shrestha, who has gone missing since May 18, is still unknown. RSS
