SIX UML CADRES INJURED IN MAOIST ATACK

Rukum, May 19: At least six UML leaders and cadres were injured when Maoist cadres indiscriminately attacked a UML gathering in Bafikot VDC in Rukum yesterday.

UML national council member Khem Man Khadka, Shobha Chand, Shashiram Dhital, Ganesh KC and two others were injured in the attack. They have been taken to district hospital after preliminary treatment at a local health post.

Maoist cadres surrounded the mass meeting organized by the UML district committee and attacked the UML cadres with lathis and other weapons, according UML district chairman Thagendra Prasad Puri.

Following the news of the attack, a police team has been dispatched to the village, the district police office said. RSS
