DEATH TOLL OF PERU'S SHIPWRECK RISES TO 5
LIMA, May 26 (Xinhua) The death toll of the shipwreck in the Amazonas River in Loreto region of Peru rose to five on Wednesday, according to local authorities.
A diving team of the National Police aided by the firemen and volunteers are taking part in the rescue. Falcon said "the rescuers try to enter the ship in order to rescue more corpses."
The rescuers used a crane on Wednesday morning to move the ship.
Falcon said to the moment the number of survivors is 145, including 20 injured. Most of the survivors still are in the riverside waiting for their relatives to be rescued. According to the preliminary reports, at least 200 people were aboard the ship. But the ship had room only for 160 people.
