CHINESE COMPANIES BASED IN MYANMAR DONATE NECESSITIES TO ORPHANS

YANGON, May 28 (Xinhua) The Chinese Enterprises Association, based in Myanmar, donated clothing, food and stationery to children in the Kaba Aye Orphanage in Myanmar's biggest city of Yangon Friday, three days ahead of the fall of the International Children's Day.

Vice-President of the Chinese association Lu Dexing said the donation was also made in anticipation of the forthcoming 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Myanmar and the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Myanmar.

The move represented an act of loving kindness extended by members of the association to express concern over Myanmar children and to enable the children in the orphanage to live in warmness, he said.

He added that the association had made similar donation in the past in different forms, citing cyclone Nargis that struck Myanmar in May 2008.

U Tin Zaw Moe, deputy director of the Yangon Division Social Welfare Department, thanked the Chinese association for the donation.

Led by Headmistress of the orphanage Daw Myint Myint Hlaing, the Chinese donors looked round the orphanage.
